ABSTRACT


          The study attempts to provide a comprehensive knowledge on Nigeria foreign policy under general Sani Abacha 1995-1998. It enquires into how military intervenes in the Nigerian politics in the recent time. The study proceeds as follows. The first chapter sets out the general introduction to the study, the aims and objective of study, scope of study, methodology and significance of the study.


          The second and third chapters examine the definition of foreign policy, the nature of foreign policy, foreign policy, Nigeria foreign policy; Historical overview of general Sani Abacha regime, regime type and foreign outlook before 1993, Nigeria commonwealth under Abacha, Nigeria United State and European Union Relation under Abacha.


          The fourth chapter addresses Nigeria shift in relation, Nigeria South Africa and West Africa relation, Abacha Policy conumdrum, Universities policies of Abacha regime. The fifth chapter examines the summary and conclusion.
